Human Studies
PK1: Comparison of pharmacokinetics of omega-3 fatty acid supplements in MAG-O3 or EE in humans with a regular meal: a randomized controlled trial
3.0 g of EPA+DHA in MAG-O3 was shown to be at least 3 times better absorbed than its dose equivalent EE fish oils, even when participants were administered a regular meal.
PK2: Pharmacokinetics of Supplemental Omega-3 Fatty Acids in MAG-O3, EE, or rTG in Adults, with a regular meal, in a Randomized Crossover Trial.
1.3 g of EPA+DHA in MAG-O3 was shown to be at least 2 times better absorbed than its dose equivalent rTG fish oils, even when participants were administered a regular meal.
CF1 - The Efficacy of MAG-O3 for Correcting AA/DHA Imbalance of Cystic Fibrosis Patients
DHA in MAG-O3 is absorbed even in the absence of digestive enzymes in addition to correcting AA/DHA imbalance while possibly exerting anti-inflammatory properties.
IO3-02 - Multicentric pilot study evaluating the impact of MAG-O3 on the omega-3 index in humans
Recommended level of 8% on the Omega-3 Index scale was reached after only 12 weeks of supplementation with 1.3 g of EPA+DHA MAG-O3. Levels returned to baseline only 4 weeks after interrupting the supplementation.

IO3-03 - Comparative human pilot study evaluating three different fish oil forms and their impact on the omega-3 index
Recommended level of 8% on the Omega-3 Index scale was reached after only 4 weeks of supplementation with 1.3 g of EPA+DHA in MAG-O3. Even after 8 weeks, both the rTG and EE fish oils cohorts failed to reach 8% on the Omega-3 Index scale.

IO3-04 - On-going multicentric pilot study evaluating the impact of EPA-rich MAG-O3 on the AA:EPA ratio and omega-3 index in humans
Preliminary results indicate that an optimal AA:EPA ratio of 2.6:1 is reached after only 6 weeks of supplementation with 2.0 g of EPA in MAG-O3.

PK3 - Comparative Crossover PK study evaluating and comparing the absorption of MK7 in MAG-O3, EE and rTG
MK7 absorption was increased by 7 to 10 folds when combined with MAG-O3 vs EE or rTG fish oils, even when participants were administered a regular meal.

PK4 - Comparative crossover PK study evaluating and comparing the absorption of CoQ10 alone, with MAG-O3 or rice bran oil.
CoQ10 absorption was increased by 2 folds when combined with MAG-O3 or rice bran oil vs a single dose of CoQ10.
PK5 - On-going comparative Crossover PK study evaluating the absorption of Curcumin in MAG-O3 vs Curcumin alone.
